Classroom ergonomics at its best, this
AlphaBetter™ (patent pending) workstation desk
has legs that can adjust from 26" to 42"
providing a stand up/sit down desk designed for
students ranging from grades 3 - 12. The free
swinging Pendulum™ footrest bar helps with
posture and naturally corrects body position
while providing stress relief for the back.
Additionally, the freedom of movement expends
excess energy thus providing the possibility of
better classroom focus. This desk is available
with a book box for additional supplies; all
models include a lower shelf for storage, and
the “noise free” swinging footrest bar. Two work
surface size choices: 20" D x 28" W (standard)
or
24” D by 36” W (special order) in a rectangular
style desk. The larger desk size can
be used also as a project-oriented workstation
that more than one student can position
themselves around. Choose from two desk tops as
well: the 3/8” thick phenolic solid surface resin material provides a
modern, thin-lined look to the desktop, and is
offered in Centuria Grey (nearly white). Our MDF
with Kydex® top is a 5/8" laminated surface that
is chemical resistant and extremely durable, and
is available in beige. The base
is a steel frame and has a black powder
coat paint finish providing durability, greater
stability and good looks.
The stool is height
adjustable to complement the student desk
height. This stool adjusts from 21” H to 35.5” H,
in 1" increments, and has a steel construction “tip resistant” leg
design. The seat is spacious with a 13” width
for ample comfortable sitting room and is
constructed of 5/8” thick MDF covered in a high
grade
thermoplastic (Kydex®) which provides long lasting
durability. To catch dangling legs, there is a
metal four-sided bar, connected between the
stool legs. Stool seat is available in two color
choices: black or beige.

Item # 02-AB4-CG
Student desk with book box
|
|
Kids think this desk is cool and enjoy not feeling cramped all day in a “sit still
and stop fidgeting” position. Teachers and
researchers have found that student focus is better
when standing at their desks because kids are not so
anxious to move around, providing better additional
oxygen to the brain and better concentration and
focus — great for the ADHD in classroom settings.
Students have reported positive changes such as
improved handwriting, ability to burn off extra
energy and improved muscle strength and endurance in
the legs — just to mention a few. We are very excited to offer
this unique desk with so many added benefits for
students and teachers. |

This foot rest bar
rocks — literally! All models of this adjustable
student workstation includes a swinging foot rest
for balance. This is great for burning energy. The
footrest is quiet when it swings back and forth so
it won't disrupt class, and
can be stowed away when needed. Measures 24" wide and is constructed of 5/8" all
steel tubing. |

Book boxes add storage
and organization. Desk with book boxes are
recommended because of the additional space for
storing books, papers and notebooks. Freeing up desk
top surface space will allow room for working on
projects without the clutter. |

"Some of them
can definitely focus better when they have more
options, in terms of how they position themselves.
For example, I have one student who used to squat on
his normal chair and keep moving all day long. He's
been really good today; his work has been spot on.
When he's focused, he's focused - he just doesn't
like to sit."
- Teacher at Marine Elementary School,
St.Croix Valley, MN
"My handwriting's way
better and I am more active during the day."
"I think it helps the
teacher teach us better, because you get a chance to
move around more than if you were sitting on a
chair." "Before, you couldn't stand all the time.
Now you can focus better, because you're not so
anxious to move around."
- Students at
St.Croix Elementary School, Minnesota

Water Gazette, St. Croix Valley, MN, November 28,
2007 Archives)
