The 17"L
single arm designed into this task lighting pivots at the
base, allowing up and down movement. The hood swivels and
tilts. This lamp is a perfect complement to the decor in
small offices or where your lamp connection point is close
to the project area needing to be illuminated. An energy
efficient, 13 watt compact fluorescent 3500K bulb and 6'L
black cord is included with your order to help ensure you
can begin using your lamp quickly.
The Ibis freestanding model allows
you to rest your lamp on any surface. However, if you prefer,
you may order the adjustable thickness edge clamp model
(shown in photo at right) which can attach the lamp's arm to work surfaces between
1" to 2-1/2" thick.

These lamps are designed to use a 13-watt compact fluorescent
light (CFL). Compared to a standard incandescent light bulb
that offers comparable light output, a CFL:
- Provides as much as
75% savings energy cost savings. Thus, while a CFL may
be priced higher for purchase, they're much less expensive
to operate.
- Compact fluorescents
have a lamp life of up to 13x longer. Specifically,
a 13 watt CFL has an average life of 10,000 hours.
- CFLs provide high light
output that often exceeds that of standard incandescent
lamps.
- According to the Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA), by using equipment that replaces
just one incandescent with a compact fluorescent bulb
reduces carbon monoxide emission (by replacing one incandescent
light bulb with an energy saving CFL, carbon monoxide
emission to the atmosphere is reduced by 1,000 lbs.)
- 13 watt CFLs are designed
with a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 82, which is good,
because that means it is on the high end of the 0 to
100 scale and indicates that colors will appear more
natural when illuminated by this bulb.
