My desk area at work is small and cramped with no room for a stand-alone copyholder. This works well for me. I am able to move it out of the way when not in use. My only annoyance is it 'creeps' upward unless I really crank the plastic lever-knobs down HARD. Presently, I am not able to crank them down any further, and I worry I'll strip the plastic knobs off the metal screw. I may have reached the correct tension b/c it hasn't been 'creeping' much anymore. Overall, it is great for me. The metal arms are sturdy. Nothing much is made without plastic parts and this is no exception. For me, this was the best option available.
