These monitor magnifiers
are constructed in three models designed to fit 15",
17" or 19" LCD screens (not widescreens). They provide added convenience
for people having some difficulty seeing a computer
screen text clearly. Tired eyes, a slight vision issue,
or a monitor placed too far away from the user (and
unable to be moved closer) may be the difficulty. To
achieve better reading clarity, place this lightweight
LCD monitor screen magnifier onto your flat panel. It
can be attached using the two metal brackets on top
of the magnifier that set on top of your monitor.
Magnification requires distance
from your screen, so our LCD monitor magnifier will
sit as much as 4" off your display. Easy adjustment
will provide you with up to 30% larger characters. While not designed to correct serious vision
issues, this unit certainly provides improved clarity
and convenient relief from some eye strain.

Fresnel
lenses are molded from precision optical grade acrylic.
The magnifying lens in our LCD computer screen magnifiers
are also treated to reduce glare, thus producing another
form of improved reading comfort. |

The Fresnel
technique is found very useful when magnifiers need
to be constructed with plastic for applications requiring
a thin and light weight placement. That is certainly
the case regarding use with flat panel LCDs. The technique
allows a larger magnifying lens to be produced with
short focal length.
Regular glass magnifying
lens are tapered; that is, thick in the middle and thin
at the edge. Making large magnifying lens using that
technique creates a heavy weight issue. Using the Fresnel
technique, however, a circular design of concentric
ridges is molded. This technology provides you with
a quality, light-weight computer screen magnifier.

Each ridge (which looks
like a saw tooth) creates a tiny prism. The focal length
and image quality is controlled by designers when choosing
appropriate powers for the prisms. Both the use of acrylic
material and the "saw tooth" cuts, minimize weight.

Determine the accurate
size of the computer filter you require by measuring
your LCD screen diagonally, as demonstrated
at left. Unlike CRTs, in which part of the screen's
overall size is behind the monitor housing,
LCD screen measurements are known as "true"
because what you see is the size required.
